Egyptian temple from the Ptolemaic-era (331 BC) was probably dedicated to the cat deity known as Bastet. A convincing argument suggest that Bastet was Burmese.
Numerous statues, murals, and egyptian hieroglyphics confirms this conclusion.
If the ancient Egyptian Royal felines were indeed Burmese, then we understand their devotion to their cats.
GUS:
Born on February 14, 1989,
Gus is the oldest registered male Burmese in the state of Texas.
Yes, he wears diapers but goes to his owners whenever he needs changing.
He still lives with his life-long mate, "Baby Ruth" who is now 17 and their 15 year-old daughter "Kismet."

Violet continues to relax into her new surroundings. She has made friends
with Titan (who even let her play with his tail today) and Cleo is less
sulky. She is eating very well, and is getting nice and round.
Violet got her introduction to my vet, and everything is looking great!

and we all love her very much.

" He's just going in for an exam mon and then he needs to be neutered soon I think, the little boy has been very aggressive lately! But sweet and full of love as always. He loves to crawl in my hair at night and sniff it for half and hour then fall asleep :) He sleeps with us every night.

"Hi Annette- Its been too long since we sent some pictures of Beck. He is the best kitty and has developed repertoire of several tricks. He knows where his water bowl is and shows me where it is in the summer to add ice cubes to it each afternoon. He is an excellent fetcher and also brings us gifts(rolled up wads of paper, Mr Mouse-his first and still favorite toy, long ribbons) all by himself, just because.....
He tucks us each in at night by arriving in bed and standing on our chests and purring goodnight. We just LOVE him, and he's so photogenic.
